America’s Coco Gauff defeated China’s Zheng Qinwen to win the WTA Finals title for the first time. Gauff made a brilliant comeback in the final played late Saturday night and won 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 against Paris Olympic champion Zheng. With this victory in Riyadh, Gauff got Rs 40.54 crore. Third seed Gauff entered the final by defeating number-1 Aryna Sabalenka. At the same time, 22-year-old Chinese player Zheng defeated Wimbledon champion Barbara Krajcikova in the semi-finals to make it to the title match of her first WTA Finals. Gauff had already earned Rs 19.45 crore before reaching the final. After winning the title, she was given a prize money of Rs 21 crore.
