Former Pakistani bowler Aaqib Javed can become the new head coach of the Pakistani team. According to ESPN report, Aaqib Javed can be given the responsibility of all formats by removing Jason Gillespie. Gillespie was recently made the coach of Pakistan after the resignation of white ball format head coach Gary Kirsten. Aaqib is currently working as a convener in the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Selection Committee. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) can announce this decision on Monday. Coaching can start from Zimbabwe tour Pakistan cricket team will play the third and last T20 match against Australia on Monday. After this, the team has to tour Zimbabwe, where Aaqib Javed will be made the white-ball head coach. Aaqib has also been the assistant coach of the Pakistan team in the past. This was the reason why Gary Kirsten left the post after just six months. Javed, the convener of the selection committee, was recently included in the five national selectors of PCB. Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn and Andrew Puttick resigned from their posts after the World Cup. Arthur was appointed the director of the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team in April 2023.
