Jaishankar will visit Italy on a three-day visit: will participate in the outreach meeting of G7 foreign ministers; PM Modi visited in June

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will leave for Italy today for a three-day visit. During this tour from 24 to 26 November, he will be a part of the outreach meeting of the foreign ministers of the G7 countries. Italy has invited India as a guest country for this meeting. This meeting of foreign ministers will be held in Fiuggi, Italy. During this, Jaishankar will meet and hold bilateral meetings with foreign ministers of all other countries including Italy. During his visit, he will also inaugurate the new complex of the Indian Embassy in Rome. Apart from this, he will also participate in the 10th edition of the ‘Mediterranean Dialogue’ organized by the International Institute of Political Studies (ISPI). The Mediterranean Dialogue is organized every year in Rome. It is commonly known as the Mad Dialogue. This time it will be organized from 25 to 27 November. PM Modi attended the G7 meeting in June. This year on June 14, an outreach meeting of the heads of state of the G7 countries was organized in Italy. Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni had invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this meeting. During this summit, apart from Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, he met French President Emmanuel Macron, British PM Rishi Sunak and Vatican City Chief Pope Francis. Modi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also met at the summit. Apart from this, Jaishankar also visited Italy on 2 and 3 November. During this, he held talks with Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani. In this conversation, an agreement was reached to increase cultural partnership between the two countries for 2023-27. What is G7 Organization? Formed in 1975, this organization is a group of the richest countries in the world. It includes America, Japan, Germany, Britain, France, Italy and Canada. These countries discuss important issues of the world in a summit every year. The last G7 summit was held in Japan. In this, China’s debt trap and increasing dominance in the Indo-Pacific were discussed. India has participated in this summit 11 times so far. For the first time in 2003, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was invited by France for this summit.
