Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has reached Italy to attend the meeting of the foreign ministers of G7 countries. Here he spoke to the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera on many issues including Ukraine War and India-China. Jaishankar emphasized on diplomatic solution to Ukraine War. He said, “There is no military solution to the Ukraine war. For this, a new dialogue should be started”. On the issue of buying oil from Russia amid the Ukraine war, he said that every sector should think about the reality of the economy. If Europe cares so much about its principles, then it should end all its trade with Russia itself. European Union is India’s largest business partner Jaishankar advocated promoting diplomatic efforts to involve Moscow and Kiev as well as all the parties involved in this war in talks. He emphasized on increasing international cooperation, especially cooperation between India and the European Union. He said- “The European Union is India’s largest business partner and investor. We have been continuously making big agreements for the last few years. I have been seeing a growing strategic agreement between the two in the last few years. He suggested that a mutually beneficial agreement can increase economic cooperation. Countries should focus more on their own benefits than external matters Regarding geopolitical pressure, especially tension with China, he said that countries should focus more on their country’s interests than external matters. My life does not revolve around any other country. I am interested in seeing a peaceful, prosperous and cooperative region. S Jaishankar has arrived in Italy for a three-day visit to attend the outreach meeting of foreign ministers of G7 countries. Here he will be a part of the outreach meeting of foreign ministers of G7 countries to be held from 24 to 26 November. Italy has invited India as a guest country for this meeting. This meeting of foreign ministers is going on in Fiuggi, Italy. During his visit, he also inaugurated the new complex of the Indian Embassy in Rome. Apart from this, he also participated in the 10th edition of ‘Mediterranean Dialogue’ organized by the International Institute of Political Studies (ISPI). Mediterranean Dialogue is organized every year in Rome. It is commonly known as Mad Dialogue.
