Actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee is going to become a mother. That is why she has distanced herself from ‘Chhathi Maiya Ki Bitiya’. Now Sneha Wagh will be seen in the role of Chhathi Maiya in this show. Sneha recently told Dainik Bhaskar that she had taken permission from Devoleena before doing this show. What is the purpose of joining ‘Chhathi Maiya Ki Bitiya’?
The reason for joining this show is very clear. I had to play the role of a goddess in life. When this show came to me, it was a blessing because I am getting to do whatever I want to do in life. This character was being played by Devoleena Bhattacharjee. Did you talk to her?
I knew that Devoleena was going to become a mother. I had also talked to her about this earlier. But when I got the offer of this show, I asked if she could come for a meeting to work in ‘Chhathi Maiya Ki Bitiya’. At that time, first of all I called Devoleena and asked her that I have received such and such a call. Can I do this show? She said very lovingly that you do not need to take permission. You do it without any tension. How do you find the challenge of bringing a character alive in a running show?
Every artist has his own way of playing a character. My way is a little different. Neither the channel nor the production house has put pressure on me. There is no pressure that I have to do it this way. They have given me complete freedom to do it well, as you feel like, as you feel from within. For me, it is not a challenge that if they did this, then you have to do the same. I am doing things in my own way, so there is no such challenge. Playing such a character is not even challenging for me. What kind of preparation did you have to do to play this character?
See, Chhathi Maiya is a very composed character. For the character, I had to work more on bringing inner peace, because I am a bit of a fickle person. Acting is fine, but dialogue delivery was necessary while bringing a calmness inside me. I have worked more on that. Are you doing anything for the OTT platform as well?
I have recently shot a film with Paresh Rawal in Dehradun. The name of the film is ‘The Taj Story’. This film will probably release next year. I don’t know whether it will come on OTT or in theatres. What is the secret of your beauty? Would you like to give some tips to your fans and readers?
I will give all the credit for your beauty to my mother and grandmother. I look exactly like my mother and grandmother. There is no difference between my image and that of my mother. We are a complete mirror image. Although there is no special secret to maintaining beauty, but one has to pay some attention. If I talk about skin care, I apply moisturizer and sunscreen daily. This is important and every person should apply it.
