American universities sent travel advisory to students across the world: Said- return before Trump takes oath, visa processes may be affected

Many universities in America have issued travel advisory for their international students and employees. It says that the students who have gone to their country for winter holidays should return to America before Donald Trump becomes the President in January. Trump will take oath as President on January 20. After taking oath, he can sign some big decisions. Universities fear that in Trump’s second term also there can be visa restrictions and policy changes like before. Actually Trump did the same after taking oath in 2017. He suddenly banned travelers from 7 Muslim countries (Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Yemen) just 7 days later. Citizens of these countries were prohibited from coming to America for 90 days. Due to this, students of these countries had to face a lot of problems. Visa process can be affected
David Elwell, Director of International Students Office of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has said that every time after the election, there is a change in administration at the federal level. This time also there can be changes in policies and laws which can affect higher education as well as immigration and visa process. Apart from this, the staffing level of US embassy in different countries will also be affected, which can slow down the visa process. Elven has advised students to keep this in mind before going on winter vacation. Most students come from India and China

According to the data of the US Ministry of Education, students from India and China come to study in the US in the largest numbers. In this too, most international students studying in America come from India. 3.31 lakh Indian students are studying in America. This number is 23% more than last year. At the same time, 2.77 lakh students from China are studying in America.
