Bran Thompson, CEO of the insurance unit of American company United Healthcare, was shot dead in New York on Wednesday morning (local time). Thompson was shot by an attacker in front of Hilton Hotel in New York. News portal Bloomberg has written quoting police officials that Thompson was shot in the chest. Thompson had arrived at the hotel on Wednesday to attend the company’s Investor Day Conference. The company said that the conference was ended prematurely due to the medical condition of one of its employees. According to the New York Post, a masked man fired bullets at Thompson. After being shot, Thompson was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was declared dead.
