On November 26, Nargis’s sister Alia was arrested from Queens, New York. She is accused of killing 35-year-old ex-boyfriend Edward Jacobs and her 33-year-old friend Anastasia Star Etienne by setting fire to a two-storey garage. According to eyewitnesses, Edward and Anastasia were sleeping in the garage when Alia came out of the garage and started creating a ruckus. She was standing outside the garage and shouting ‘You all will burn alive’, shortly after this the garage caught fire, killing both of them. It has come to light that Alia had an affair with Edward Jacobs a year ago. Edward was a plumber by profession and was married and had three children. Edward was living in that garage and working on converting it into an apartment. Edward’s mother has told in an interview to the New York Post that Edward left Alia a year ago and she was unable to move on after facing this rejection. In the police investigation, people living with Edward have told that the relationship between the two was quite abusive. There were a lot of fights between the two. Alia Fakhri has been charged with 4 sections each of first degree and third degree murder. If the charges are proved, Alia can get life imprisonment.
