India’s Jasprit Bumrah’s name has been added to the race for November’s ICC Player of the Month Award. He took 8 wickets in the Perth Test against Australia. Along with Bumrah, Pakistan’s Haris Rauf and South Africa’s Marco Jansen have also been nominated. In women’s category, Bangladesh’s Sharmin Akhtar, England’s Danny Wyatt-Hodge and South Africa’s Nadine de Klerk have been nominated. In women’s category, all three nominations were for batsmen, while in men’s category, all three nominations were for bowlers. Rauf had pushed Australia on the backfoot. In November, a series of 3 ODIs and 3 T20s was played between Pakistan and Australia. In 3 ODIs, Pakistan’s fast bowler took 10 wickets, with the help of which the team won the ODI series in Australia after 22 years. In all three ODIs, Rauf also sent the dangerous Glenn Maxwell back to the pavilion. Rauf was selected Player of the Series in ODIs. After which he also took 5 wickets in 3 T20s. That means in November he took 15 wickets in 6 matches. Jansen took 11 wickets against Sri Lanka South Africa’s left arm pacer Marco Jansen is leading the race to win the award. He took 7 wickets for just 13 runs in the first innings of the first Test against Sri Lanka. Due to which Sri Lanka was reduced to just 42 runs. He again took 4 wickets in the second innings. He also received the Player of the Match award for taking 11 wickets. Before the Test, Jansen performed brilliantly with the bat in the T20 series against India. In the third T20, he scored 54 runs in just 17 balls, while in the fourth T20 he scored 29 runs. South Africa lost both the matches, but Jansen’s performance was excellent. Bumrah captained against Australia Bowling Jasprit Bumrah captained India in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. Rohit Sharma could not play the match in Perth due to paternity leave. Batting first, Team India could score only 150 runs, here captain Bumrah made the team comeback. He took 5 wickets for just 30 runs and restricted Australia to 104 runs. Bumrah then took 3 wickets for 42 runs in the second innings and India won the match by a huge margin of 295 runs. Bumrah was selected Player of the Match for this performance and India took a 1-0 lead in the series. Not a single Indian included in the women’s category Players from England, South Africa and Bangladesh have been nominated for the Women’s Player of the Month award. Nadine de Klerk scored 80 runs and also took 4 wickets in the T20 series against England. Danni Wyatt scored 142 runs at a strike rate of 163.21 against South Africa and helped her team win the series 3-0. Sharmin Akhtar scored 139 runs at an average of around 70 in 2 ODIs against Ireland. She played innings of 96 and 43 runs, with the help of which Bangladesh won the series 3-0. Sharmin then scored 72 runs in the third ODI played in December.
