Director Ali Abbas Zafar gets a shock: Mumbai Session Court dismisses petition; Vasu Bhagnani had filed FIR

Director Ali Abbas Zafar has got a big setback from the Mumbai Sessions Court. The court has rejected his petition, in which he challenged the fraud FIR filed by Vasu Bhagnani. The court says that the FIR was filed on the orders of Bandra Court of Mumbai, so the challenge of Ali Zafar and others is no longer valid. Actually, this matter is related to the 2024 film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Know what is the whole matter?
Vasu Bhagnani had accused director Ali Abbas Zafar and co-producer Himanshu Mehra of fraud, forgery and cheating of crores of rupees to Bandra Police on 3 September 2024. He said that during the shooting of the film, fake documents were signed in his name. However, the police did not take any action. After this, Vasu had asked the court to register an FIR. The court said on 2 December 2024 that a large amount is involved in this fraud and it is spread across many places. The court also said that the help of many agencies will have to be taken to gather evidence and it may take many documents. The allegations are serious and the case is cognizable and non-bailable. After this, the court ordered the Bandra police to register an FIR under sections 120-B, 406, 420, 465, 468, 471, 500 and 506, r/w.34 of the IPC. For the past several months, a legal dispute has been going on between Vasu Bhagnani and Ali Abbas Zafar over the film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Vasu and Jacky Bhagnani accused Zafar of misappropriating the subsidy received from Abu Dhabi and hijacking the film. Apart from this, they also said that Zafar and his partners together hatched a criminal conspiracy. This complaint was lodged by Vasu when Ali Abbas Zafar complained to the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) about non-payment of Rs 7.30 crore, which he was to get for directing the film.
