A video is being shared on social media in which some policemen are beating people with sticks. It is being shared with the claim that these videos are from the recent violence in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. Is this claim true?: No, this claim is false. What we found We also checked the location on Google Maps and found a place that matched one of the shops seen in the viral video. What happened in Sambhal? Five Muslim persons were killed in the firing in Sambhal, people of the Muslim community opposed the survey of Shahi Jama Masjid. The survey was ordered by a civil court in response to a petition, which said that this mosque once used to have a Harihar temple.
