A case of demanding a ransom of Rs 5 lakh from National Award winning famous lyricist Harmanjit Singh Khyala, who wrote the song Long Lachi and the book Rani Tat, has come to light. After the lyricist received the threat, the Sadar police of Mansa has registered a case on the complaint of the lyricist and arrested a school teacher. DSP of Mansa, Boota Singh Gill said that a complaint was lodged by lyricist Harmanjit Singh to the police that he has received a letter demanding a ransom of Rs 5 lakh and he has also received a threat to kill him in case of not paying the ransom. On which the Sadar police of Mansa registered a case and started investigation immediately. After investigation, the police have arrested a teacher, against whom a case has been registered and action has been started. Let us tell you that lyricist Harmanjit Singh is posted as a teacher in Kotlu village of Mansa district. Most of the songs written by him have been sung by singer Diljit Dosanjh. Harmanjit’s songs are included in many Punjabi films and he has been awarded the National Award for the book Rani Tat.
