The Delhi High Court on Monday rejected the petition of Al-Qaeda terrorist Mohammad Abdul Rehman. The court said, ‘Brainwashing the youth with speeches and involving them in illegal activities against the country cannot be ignored just because no major terrorist incident has taken place.’ In fact, Mohammad Abdul Rehman was convicted by the trial court in February 2023 in a case related to the Unlawful Activity Prevention Act (UAPA) and sentenced to 7 years and 5 months. Rehman had appealed against this in the High Court. In the High Court, Rehman had argued that I was convicted of terrorist activity and involving people for it, but no evidence was found to prove that I have done anything like this. Rehman is accused of being associated with the Indian unit of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda. During the arrest, fake documents and passport were found from him.
