Flight passenger cafe started at Kolkata airport: Tea for ?10 and coffee-samosa for ?20; AAP MP Raghav Chadha had suggested this in Parliament

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has started ‘Udaan Yatri Cafe’ at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata. This is the first cafe to sell cheap food at the airport. Here water bottle and tea will be available for Rs 10. While samosa, coffee and sweet will be available for Rs 20. Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha participated in the discussion on the Indian Aviation Bill 2024 in the winter session of Parliament. During this, he had questioned the government about the expensive sale of food items at the airport. He had said – Water bottle at the airport starts from Rs 100 and food items start from Rs 200. Can the government build an airport canteen, in which food can be available at a lower price. After this, this cafe was started at Kolkata Airport. Chadha said – Happy to see the change
After the cafe opened, Rajya Sabha MP Chadha wrote on his X handle – Happy to see the change! After raising this issue in the winter session, the price of tea has been reduced at Kolkata Airport. This is a victory for the common people. These cafes should be opened at other airports as well. Dainik Bhaskar spoke to Deepak Kumar, Joint General Manager of Kolkata Airport in this regard. He said that Kolkata Airport is celebrating its 100th anniversary. On this occasion, it was decided to open this cafe in Kolkata. At present, it has not been decided at which airport the next cafe will be opened, but cafes will be opened at all airports in the country. Kumar said that at present, there are 5 things in this cafe – water, tea, coffee, samosa and gulab jamun. Most passengers buy tea and samosa.
