Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu underwent prostate surgery on Sunday. Doctors have removed the prostate from his body. Dr. Ofer Gofrit, head of the Urology Department at Jerusalem’s Hadassah Medical Center, said that the surgery was successful. Netanyahu has no fear of cancer or any other fatal disease. 75-year-old Netanyahu has been struggling with health problems for the last few years. During the hearing of a case this month, Netanyahu had said that he works for 18 hours with a cigar. He has completed 17 years as Prime Minister. Netanyahu’s surgery has taken place at a time when the hearing of the corruption case against him is going on. On the other hand, he is facing the challenge of the Gaza war and Houthi rebels. Netanyahu went underground after surgery. Netanyahu has been kept in an underground unit for recovery after the surgery. This underground unit will not be affected even by missile attacks. During the surgery, Netanyahu’s Justice Minister Yariv Levin took over the responsibility of the caretaker Prime Minister in his place. After the surgery, Netanyahu thanked the doctors. Last year, Netanyahu was diagnosed with a heart disease. After this, a pacemaker was installed on him. This year he also underwent a hernia surgery. Netanyahu keeps trying to maintain his image as an energetic leader. Hearing in corruption case postponed The hearing in the corruption case against Netanyahu was postponed on Sunday. Netanyahu’s lawyer had asked the Jerusalem District Court to postpone the hearing, citing his surgery. The court postponed the hearing on the lawyer’s plea. Now the hearing in this case will be held around January 6. Netanyahu has to come to the court and testify in this case.
