Before the Delhi assembly elections, Arvind Kejriwal launched the Pujari-Granthi scheme in the capital on Tuesday. Kejriwal visited the Marghat Baba temple in Kashmiri Gate with his wife and got the first registration of the priest done there. Under the scheme, priests and granthis have been promised a salary of Rs 18,000 per month. BJP released a poster on X, which showed Arvind Kejriwal in the character of Chhota Pandit (Rajpal Yadav) from the film Bhool Bhulaiyaa. BJP has called him an electoral Hindu. BJP wrote – The one who has been distributing salaries to Imams for 10 years. The one who himself and his grandmother were not happy with the construction of Lord Shri Ram’s temple. The one who opened liquor shops outside temples and gurudwaras. The one whose entire politics was anti-Hindu, now as soon as the elections came, he remembered the priests and granthis? Kejriwal replied, ‘Ever since the Pujari Granthi Samman Yojana has been announced, BJP people have been abusing me. Will the country benefit by abusing me? You have governments in 20 states. You have been in power in Gujarat for 30 years. Why have you not respected the priests and granthis there till now? Come on, do it now? I have shown everyone the way. Why do you abuse me?’ BJP said- AAP’s announcement is just a gimmick
BJP spokesperson Amit Malviya had said about Kejriwal’s Pujari-Granthi Samman Yojana that after 10 years, Mahathug Arvind Kejriwal has announced a new scheme to cheat the priests of temples and granthis of Gurudwara Sahib. But he does not even know how many priests and granthis are there in Delhi. A flurry of false promises has been made before the elections. Amit Malviya said- Imams have not been paid salaries for the last 17 months, and they are continuously protesting. Delhiites know that this announcement of anti-Hindu AAP is also just a gimmick. Imams allege- Salary has not been received for 17 months
Delhi Waqf Board’s Imams had protested outside Kejriwal’s house on December 30. Imams allege that they have not received salary for 17 months. All India Imam Association chairman Sajid Rashidi said that for the last 6 months, they have been meeting officials including CM, LG regarding the delay in salary, but no solution has been found. Kejriwal has announced 5 schemes. Elections can be held in Delhi in January-February. The current term of Delhi Assembly is ending on 23 February 2025.
