Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah can be rested in the ODI and T20 series against England. The English team is coming to India just before the Champions Trophy. The team has to play a series of 5 T20 and 3 ODIs here. This series is starting from January 22. India Today’s report states that Bumrah is being rested as a part of workload management. He has bowled 141.2 overs in four matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. One match of the series is still left. Just a day ago, Rohit Sharma had accepted the fact that Bumrah has a lot of workload. Rohit had said – Of course, Bumrah bowled a lot. We have to think about managing the workload of all the bowlers. However, when a player is in his top form, he should be used as much as possible. We did the same with Bumrah. We have to be careful about fast bowlers many times, we cannot make them bowl continuously. With Bumrah too, we took great care of the workload. I kept talking to him even during the match whether he was feeling fit to bowl or not.’ Jasprit Bumrah has been nominated for the ICC Cricketer of the Year Award on Tuesday, 30 December. He is part of the Indian team playing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT). Bumrah has taken the most wickets in BGT-2024. He has taken 30 wickets in 8 innings of 4 Tests.
