Manu Bhaker, Gukesh, Harmanpreet and Praveen awarded Khel Ratna: 34 players awarded Arjuna Award, including 17 para-athletes; 5 coaches to receive Dronacharya Award

The National Sports Award 2024 was announced by the Sports Ministry on Thursday. Shooter Manu Bhaker, who won a double medal in the Olympics, world chess champion D Gukesh, hockey team captain Harmanpreet Singh and para athlete player Praveen Kumar will be honored with the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award. Apart from these, 5 coaches will get the Dronacharya Award, 2 of them are for lifetime achievement. Arjuna Award will be given to 34 players, out of which 17 are para-athletes, while 2 are for lifetime achievement. The award ceremony will be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 17.
