PM said- development of the village could have happened earlier also: Why did we have to wait for Modi; we have worshipped those whom no one asked

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Rural India Festival 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi on Saturday. Addressing the program, the PM said – I spent most of my time in villages. I have seen the problems closely, that is why I dreamed of solving the problems. Earlier, what was the thinking about the border villages of our country. They were called the last villages of the country. We changed this thinking. We told that the first and last ray of the sun falls here. These are the first villages for us. Vibrant Village Yojana was started for them. Modi has worshipped those whom no one asked. Rural India Festival will run from 4 to 9 January. The theme of the festival has been kept as ‘Building a better rural India for developed India 2047’. Highlights of PM Modi’s address… 1. On previous governments
The PM said – Since independence, lakhs of villages in the country have been deprived of basic things. Where do most SC, ST and OBC live in the country… in the village. These people live in the village itself. Earlier governments did not pay attention to their needs. There was migration from villages. Poverty kept increasing. The gap between villages and cities also kept increasing. 2. PM Modi’s emphasis on village development- Those of us who are from villages, who have grown up there, know the power of villages. The one who lives in a village, the village also lives within him. The one who has lived in a village knows how to live in a village. My childhood was also spent in a small town. I have seen it since childhood, but due to lack of capital, they do not get opportunities. I have seen that villages have a diverse potential, but it gets wasted in basic problems only. Sometimes crops do not grow due to natural disasters, it was because of seeing these problems closely that I dreamt of solving the problems of the poor in villages. 3. Tap in every home
Since 2014, I have been continuously serving rural India every moment. Toilets were built in every home, lakhs of families were given concrete houses. Today, clean drinking water is reaching every home in lakhs of villages through Jal Jeevan Mission. During Covid, the world was wondering how the villages of India would deal with this pandemic, but we delivered vaccines to the last person in every village. 4. On Crop Insurance Scheme

To strengthen the rural economy, it is necessary that economic policies are made for every section in the village. Just 2-3 days ago, the Cabinet has extended the Crop Insurance Scheme by one more year. The price of DAP is increasing in the world and is touching the sky. If our farmers got the price prevailing in the world, then the farmers would have been so burdened that they would not have been able to stand. We have kept its price stable by increasing the subsidy. 5. On Vishwakarma Yojana

Apart from agriculture, most of the people like blacksmiths, potters live in the villages. They have contributed a lot to the rural economy and local economy. Earlier, they were constantly neglected, but we are running Vishwakarma Yojana to help them prepare new products, increase their skills, and provide goods at affordable rates. When the intentions are good, the results are also satisfactory. 6. On PM Janman Yojana

We started PM Janman Yojana for tribal areas. We are moving ahead with the mantra of nation’s development through village development. As a result of this, 25 crore people of the country have come out of poverty. A large number of them are villagers. A report of SBI says that in 2012, poverty in villages was 26 percent. In 2024, poverty in villages in India has reduced to less than 5 percent. 7. On rural women

Today, women in the name of Bank Sakhi and Deema Sakhi are strengthening the economy of villages. Women are revolutionizing through self-help groups in every village. Special schemes are also being run for women of Dalit deprived tribal society. Today, the focus on village development has never been as much as before. 8. On PM Gram Sadak Yojana

Under PM Gram Sadak Yojana, 4 lakh km long roads have been built in ten years. The people of our village have proved wrong those who thought that the people of villages would not be able to adopt digital technology. Today, more than 94 percent of rural families in the country have telephone or mobile. Facilities like banking and UPI are available in the village itself.
