Vishambar Singh said that the family had reached Maha Kumbh on 28 January along with other people of the village. After bathing at 4 pm, Kishan Baldev (71) and others started waiting for the royal bath on 29 January. Meanwhile, a stampede broke out at around 2 am. The body was given without a number, the government is reporting less deaths. Vishambar Singh said that there were heaps of bodies in the hospital mortuary. After the postmortem of Kishan Baldev, his body was given on Thursday evening. There was no number tag on it. He said that numbers were written on many bodies. He claimed that the death toll is many times more than the government figure. After returning from Sangam, the crops were to be watered. Kishan’s son Ramlal said that before going for the royal bath, his father had asked him to take care of the fields. After returning from Sangam bath, his father had to water the crops in the fields. Kishan Baldev’s two sons Revati Prasad and Ramlal run their household by working as labourers, while Kishan Baldev used to do farming on 1.5 bigha ancestral land.
