After the rift between Mayawati and her nephew Akash Anand, she is not getting along with her brother Anand Kumar either. Earlier, Akash’s father-in-law and then he were expelled from the party. First Akash Anand was stripped of his succession, then expelled from the party. On May 7, 2024, all responsibilities were taken away due to misrepresentation. On June 23, 2024, Akash was again made the successor and also given the responsibility of National Coordinator. But on March 2, 2025, all the responsibilities were taken away from him again. On March 3, he was expelled from the party. Akash entered politics in 2017 Akash Anand was first seen with Mayawati in a public meeting in Saharanpur in 2017. After this, he was continuously working for the party. In 2019, he was made the National Coordinator. This decision was taken when the alliance of SP and BSP broke after the Lok Sabha elections. Akash is married to Dr. Pragya, daughter of former BSP Rajya Sabha member Ashok Siddharth.
