Delhi court said- File an FIR against Kejriwal: Accused of misuse of government money, had put up big hoardings for publicity

Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has ordered to register an FIR against former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the case of misuse of government money. Kejriwal is accused of misusing public money in putting up big hoardings for publicity. Hearing the petition demanding FIR against Kejriwal and two other leaders Gulab Singh and Nitika Sharma, the court has directed Delhi Police to register a case. A petition was filed in a Delhi court in 2019. It alleged that Arvind Kejriwal, former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Gulab Singh and Dwarka councilor Nitika Sharma have misused public money by putting up big hoardings across the area. Then the lower court dismissed the petition and refused to allow FIR. In January 2024, the Directorate of Information and Publicity also asked AAP to return Rs 163.62 crore with interest for misusing public money for political advertisements. Arvind Kejriwal is on bail in the liquor scam case. He came out of jail on July 13, 2024. On the same day, the Supreme Court granted him bail in the CBI case related to this matter. Both ED and CBI investigating agencies have registered a case against Kejriwal in the liquor scam case. ED arrested him on March 21, 2024. After this, on June 26, CBI took him into custody from the jail itself. He got bail from the Supreme Court on July 12 in the ED case. Center’s order – Renovation in Kejriwal’s bungalow will be investigated Earlier, the central government had ordered an inquiry into the renovation in the bungalow of former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at 6 Flag Staff Road. The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) had issued orders for investigation on February 13. This order was given after the report of the Central Public Workers Department (CPWD) came out. The report said that many rules were broken in the construction of the bungalow built in 40 thousand square yards (8 acres). Before the Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP had alleged that more than Rs 45 crore was spent on the renovation of the bungalow. The BJP has named the bungalow as Kejriwal’s Sheeshmahal. Kejriwal lived here from 2015 to 2024. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva had complained to Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena that Kejriwal’s bungalow was built by illegally combining 4 government properties.
