Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday (March 17) launched a dedicated mobile application for the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme. At the same time, the second round of this scheme started in January this year, under which about 327 companies have posted more than 1.18 lakh internship opportunities. The last date for application in the second round is March 31. Earlier the last date for registration was March 12. Under the scheme, interns will get Rs 5,000 per month Under this scheme, interns will be given financial assistance of Rs 5,000 per month for 12 months and a one-time grant of Rs 6,000. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, which implements the scheme, has identified the top-500 companies on the basis of their average CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) expenditure in the last three years.
