Israel will completely occupy Gaza: War Cabinet approves plan; Israeli Army airstrikes on Houthi fighters

The Israeli army will further intensify the military operation in Gaza. Israel’s War Cabinet approved this decision on Monday. This includes a plan to completely ‘occupy’ Gaza and control the entire area. According to reports, an official said that it is expected that it will be implemented only after US President Donald Trump’s visit next week. Israel will continue to try to reach a ceasefire and hostage agreement with Hamas until then. However, Israeli Army Chief Eyal Zamin has warned against intensifying the operation in Gaza. He has said that this operation can endanger the lives of hostages in Gaza. However, he said that the new plan will help in launching more strong attacks against Hamas and bringing back the hostages left there. But there may be difficulties in fulfilling both objectives simultaneously. Hamas attacked on 7 October 2023 and took more than 250 Israelis hostage. After the release of the hostages, Hamas now has 59 more Israeli hostages left, out of which 35 have died. Israel started calling reserve soldiers, a day before this, Army Chief Eyal Zamir had said that they are calling their reserve soldiers for this. The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, which was going on for 8 weeks, was broken on 18 March. After this, Israel again started attacking Gaza. Israel has also stopped the aid to Gaza. Talks between the two countries regarding ceasefire are still stalled. Hamas has refused to discuss further on the release of hostages until Israel agrees to end the war and withdraw all its forces from Gaza. According to the United Nations, Israel has declared 70% of Gaza as a red zone. People living here have been ordered to leave the area. …………………………………………….
