According to media reports, the central government is giving instructions to remove more than 1,000 posts from social media every day under the IT Act. For this, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has also held a high-level meeting with social media companies. Social media companies have blocked access to the accounts of Pakistani actors like Fawad Khan, Atif Aslam, Hania Aamir and cricketers like Babar Azam, Shahid Afridi in India. The government says that this action has been taken to strengthen national security and cyber security. Some accounts are accused of spreading instability in India and spreading misinformation. Order to remove Pakistani content from OTT platforms Earlier, on Thursday, the central government directed all OTT (over-the-top) and streaming platforms to immediately remove content related to Pakistan. Pakistani content has been banned citing national security reasons in the advisory of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. This action has been taken under the IT Act 2021. OTT platforms will have to remove all kinds of Pakistani content The Government of India had banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels Earlier, on April 27, on the recommendation of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Government of India has banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels. According to government sources, these channels are accused of spreading provocative, communal and misleading news against India, Indian Army and security agencies. Pakistani actors also banned FWICE (Film Federation of Western Cine Employees) has recently written a letter to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and made it clear that if any Indian works with Pakistani artists, a case of treason will be filed against him. Elon Musk’s company X Corp has banned 230,892 accounts in India between 26 April and 25 May. Of these, 2,29,925 accounts have been banned for promoting child sexual abuse and non-consensual nudity. Earlier, between 26 March and 25 April, X had banned 1,84,241 accounts in India. Out of these, 1,303 accounts were banned for promoting terrorism. Whereas, between 26 February and 25 March, a total of 213,862 accounts were banned. Out of these, 1,235 were such accounts which were closed for promoting terrorism in the country.
