4 Indian athletes will participate in Doha Diamond League: Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra will lead the team, the event will be held on May 16

India’s star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra will participate in the Doha Diamond League on May 16. Apart from Neeraj, three other Indian athletes will also participate in this competition. This is the largest number of participants from India in any Diamond League competition. Neeraj, who won the title here in 2023 (88.67 meters) and finished second in 2024 (88.36 meters), will participate in the men’s javelin throw event along with Kishore Jena. Jena also participated in this competition in 2024 and finished ninth with a throw of 76.31 meters. Neeraj Chopra finished second in the 2024 Diamond League Final. He threw a best throw of 87.86 meters in his third attempt, but was 0.01 meters away from becoming the champion. In the men’s javelin throw event, Neeraj will face two-time world champion and Paris Olympics bronze medalist Anderson Peters of Grenada. Apart from Peters, players like defending champion Jakub Vadlech (Czech Republic), Julian Weber (Germany), Max Dehning (Germany), Julius Yego (Kinyer) and Roderick Genki Dean (Japan) are included. The player who wins the final is considered the Diamond League champion.
