The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has appealed to Indian producers to boycott Turkiye. Federation FWICE Chief Advisor Ashok Pandit has written a letter requesting all Indian filmmakers to think before choosing Turkiye as a shooting location. He has cited Turkiye’s increasing support for Pakistan in matters affecting India’s national interests. The letter said the nation comes first The letter said- ‘FWICE has always been firm on the fact that the nation comes first. In view of the recent developments and Turkiye’s continued stance in support of Pakistan, which has raised concerns about security and national security. We believe that it is not in the interest of the Indian film industry to invest or collaborate in any form that indirectly supports or benefits such a country. Turkiye’s stance has been seen not only diplomatically but also on different international forums, where it has taken a stand contrary to India’s sovereign interests. As this industry is deeply rooted in Indian soil and culture, we cannot remain indifferent to actions that undermine the dignity or security of our country. We appeal to all production houses, line producers, actors, directors and crew members of the Indian film fraternity to stand in solidarity with the country and boycott Turkey for film shooting until the country reconsiders its diplomatic stance and recommits to the principles of mutual respect and non-interference.’ AICWA said strict action will be taken against those who go against the decision After FWICE, the All Indian Cine Workers Association has also announced a complete boycott of Turkey for film shooting and culture. AICWA has said in its decision that with immediate effect, no Bollywood or Indian film project will be shot in Turkey.
