Filmmaker Karan Johar has given a befitting reply to those who still call Alia Bhatt a ‘nepotism kid’. In an interview, he clearly said that now he is fed up with this debate of nepotism. In a conversation with Galata Plus, Karan Johar said, have you seen Highway? Have you seen Udta Punjab? Have you seen Raazi? Have you seen Gangubai? Just watch her films. If even after this you are calling her a ‘nepotism kid’, then you are the most stupid person in this world and then no one can help you. Even on launching the star kid, Karan Johar said, I will continue to believe in the talent of star kids. Am I the face of hatred of Bollywood and if yes, then thank you for giving me this tag. But do I deserve it? I don’t think I deserve this tag. The relationship between Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt is not just professional, but much deeper and personal than that. Karan treats Alia like his daughter. He was the one who made Alia debut with Student of the Year. In an old interview with ETimes, Karan had said, “She is the first person for whom I felt a parental feeling. I love her, and the country knows that she is one of our best actresses. Alia Bhatt had cancelled her Cannes debut. Alia Bhatt was going to debut on the red carpet of Cannes on 14 May, i.e. on the first day of the 78th Cannes Film Festival, however, she cancelled her debut. As per the report of India Today, Alia had taken this decision due to the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan. She did not feel right to be a part of Cannes in this sensitive time.
