More than 23 thousand Pakistani citizens are currently imprisoned in jails of many countries of the world. They have been convicted of serious charges like rape, murder and drug trafficking. According to Pakistani newspaper Dawn, the Ministry of External Affairs has given this information in the Parliament. A question related to this was asked during the Question Hour in the National Assembly of Pakistan, to which the Ministry gave a written reply. In its written reply, the Ministry said that a total of 23456 Pakistani citizens are imprisoned in foreign jails. Of these, the highest number of 12156 is imprisoned in Saudi Arabia. After Saudi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is at second place, where 5292 Pakistanis are serving jail sentences. 400 Pakistanis are also imprisoned in Chinese jails involved in crimes like drug trafficking and rape in China. Most of them have been found guilty of serious crimes like drug trafficking, rape, robbery and murder. According to the report of Dawn, 450 Pakistani citizens imprisoned in Bahrain have been convicted on charges of drug trafficking, possession of narcotics and fraud. On the other hand, Afghanistan has convicted 88 Pakistani citizens for overstay and security related crimes. The record of Pakistani citizens is also poor in Islamic countries. 338 Pakistanis are serving sentences for different crimes in Qatar, 309 in Oman, 255 in Malaysia. The number of Pakistani criminals is also increasing in European countries. The number of Pakistani criminals is increasing in many countries of Europe. 168 Pakistanis are in jail in France and 94 in Germany. In Austria too, Pakistanis have been convicted in cases like illegal infiltration, human and drug trafficking, murder and sexual harassment, although the number has not been disclosed. 3 Pakistanis have been convicted in Norway, 2 in Finland, 9 in Canada and 27 in Denmark. A report was released in the year 2022 accusing Pakistanis of raping girls in Britain. It was reported that at least 1400 minor girls were sexually abused between 1997 and 2013 in Rotherham, Cornwall, Derbyshire, Rochdale and Bristol cities of England. Most of the accused were of Pakistani origin. Most of the girls were lured and trafficked by an organized gang. The first case was from the city of Rotherham.
