Google and artificial intelligence startup ‘Character.AI’ will be sued in the case of suicide of a 14-year-old boy. The court has approved it. In February 2024, a boy named Sewell Setzer committed suicide after interacting with an AI powered chatbot. It is alleged that the boy regularly talked to the AI version of Daenerys Targaryen, a character from the popular show ‘Game of Thrones’ and fell in love with her. Google said – not involved in this, the court did not agree Character.AI and Google requested the court to dismiss the case by giving several arguments. But the court did not give them relief.
