US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose 50% tariff on European Union countries. He posted on social media that all products coming from the European Union will be subjected to 50% tariff, unless these products are made in the US. Trump is planning to implement it on June 1. The EU has proposed to reduce all tariffs to zero by mutual consent, while Trump is adamant on imposing 10% tariff on all types of imports. Trump said that I had already told Apple’s Tim Cook that iPhones sold in America should be manufactured in America only. Not in India or anywhere else. If this does not happen, then Apple will have to pay at least 25% tariff to the US. Later, Trump clarified that tariff will be imposed on all smartphones made abroad and this could come into effect by the end of June.
