The Chinese Embassy in Nepal has issued a warning to its citizens to avoid traveling near the Indo-Nepal border. This warning has been given after India took action against illegal border crossers in the last few months. In a statement issued on Friday, the Chinese Embassy said that despite repeated warnings, some Chinese travelers are going to the border area, due to which they are being detained on charges of illegal entry into India. 2 to 8 years jail sentence for illegal entry into India The embassy said that citizens of Nepal and India can come and go to the border of both the countries with their identity cards, but this rule does not apply to foreign citizens. Foreigners need a visa to enter India via Nepal. The embassy said that intentionally or unintentionally crossing the border into India illegally can lead to arrest or prosecution. For this, there can be 2 to 8 years of imprisonment or fine, and there is no option of bail. Two Chinese citizens arrested on Thursday On Thursday, two Chinese citizens were arrested in Bihar for making videos and taking selfies on the Indo-Nepal border. The police had said that they did not have legal documents. Earlier this month, four Chinese nationals were detained in Bihar’s Raxaul for trying to enter India through the Nepal border. They also did not have the necessary documents to enter India.
