Speaker of Pakistan’s Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmed Khan has defended Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Saifullah Khalid, accused of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. In a statement given to the media on June 1, Malik said, India has held Saifullah responsible for the Pahalgam attack without any investigation. Indian officials filed an FIR against Saifullah within a few days of the attack, but they have no proof of this allegation. Apart from this, Malik accused the Indian government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being responsible for the terrorist attacks in India. Terrorist Saifullah and Malik were seen together on the same stage. During an event in Pakistan’s Punjab on May 28, Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists and many leaders were seen on the same stage. Pahalgam attack mastermind Saifullah Kasuri, Lashkar’s co-founder Aamir Hamza and Hafiz Saeed’s son Talha Saeed were also present in this event. Among those who shared the stage with these terrorists were Pakistan’s Food Minister Malik Rashid Ahmed Khan and Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan. All of them were at a program organized in Punjab on the 27th anniversary of the nuclear test on May 28. During this, these leaders and terrorists gave provocative speeches against India and raised slogans in support of Khalistan. Saifullah called the terrorists killed in Operation Sindoor as martyrs. Terrorist Saifullah also called the terrorists killed during India’s Operation Sindoor as martyrs in the program. He claimed that after this attack the whole world has started knowing him. He said, ‘I was called the mastermind of the Pahalgam attack. They have taken my name so many times that now my name has become famous all over the world.’ Pakistani journalist Taha Siddiqui shared a video of Hamza on X, in which he is heard saying, ‘Kashmir will become Pakistan. Jammu will become Pakistan, Indian Punjab will become Khalistan.” Saifullah is a resident of Rawalkot in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). He was operating terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir from there. He gave a speech in March, the video of which also surfaced. In this, he is asking the Pakistan government in a stern tone not to let the Kashmir issue cool down. This speech of Saifullah is being told of March 2025.
