The High Court has dismissed the case filed in Ajmer against the film Jolly LLB-3. While giving the order, the court of Justice Ashok Jain said- No claim can be based on suspicions. The film is still under production, so to say that an attempt is being made to tarnish the image of judges and lawyers in the film is just a suspicion. The court said- Under the Cinematography Act-1952, the content of the film cannot be made public before its release. If there is an objection to any scene of the film, then there is a provision for complaint and appeal against it in the Censor Board. Actually, Ajmer District Bar Association President Chandrabhan Rathore had filed a case against the film. He had said that an attempt is being made to tarnish the image of judges and lawyers through the film. Earlier also, the image of the judiciary was tarnished in two parts of this film. In such a situation, the shooting of the film should be stopped. Against this, actor Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi and the film’s director Subhash Kapoor had filed a revision petition in the High Court. Court has no right to investigate before the censor board
Arguing on behalf of Akshay Kumar and others in the High Court, senior advocate RK Agarwal said- The censor board has the right to examine the scenes of the film. If anyone has an objection to the film certified by the censor board, then there is a provision for revision and appeal in the Cinematography Act. He said- It is not right to stop the shooting of a film on mere suspicion and to investigate it by the court. In such a situation, the claim filed in Ajmer Court should be rejected. At the same time, the Bar Association said that we are talking about the dignity of the judiciary. The image of the judiciary was tarnished in the last 2 parts of this film. Therefore, our demand is that a committee of judges and lawyers should be constituted and the scenes and other information of this film should be given to them. Shooting was done in Ajmer DRM office
Advocates associated with the case, Adhiraj Modi and Aditya Chaudhary said- The shooting of the film was done in Ajmer DRM office from 25 April to 10 May 2024. In the claim, shooting in a government building was also termed wrong. But the filmmakers said that they had taken permission for shooting the film by following the complete procedure. In return, they had also paid around Rs 25 lakh to the Railways.
