On Sunday, Khalistani supporters attacked a journalist Mocha Bezirgan in Canada. Mocha told news agency ANI that the attackers included a person who had been following him for the last one year and monitoring his activities online. Mocha said- I was in Vancouver when this incident happened. Many Khalistanis started threatening me and snatched my phone, beat me up. All this happened in front of the police. This happened just 2 hours ago and I am still trembling. Mocha told that this attacker is a British citizen. Also, he was harassing Mocha for a long time and was also using foul language against him. The attacker is not a Canadian citizen. Mocha has been covering Khalistani demonstrations in Canada, America, UK and New Zealand for the last one year. According to Mocha, some people angry with his reporting try to buy and threaten him. Mocha said- Some people cannot tolerate my reporting. This attacker is not even a Canadian citizen, yet he is threatening me. He told that Khalistanis were honoring their dead people in a program. Mocha was covering this program there. Then some attackers started clashing with him. Mocha told that he was coming near my face. I told him to keep distance, but he did not listen. Then two-three more people started surrounding me. Mocha said- I will upload the video of the incident, after this Mocha started recording the incident in his phone. After which some attackers moved away in fear, but one person snatched his phone and stopped the recording. Police warned the attacker, but he continued to harass. Mocha said- Police is very lenient. I had filed a complaint against this person earlier also, but no strict action was taken. He told that the attacker followed him even after the warning of the police. Mocha said that the attackers are now trying to defame him online. The attackers claimed that he was just asking questions to Mocha. Mocha refuted this and said- this is not the way to ask questions. I was threatened, my phone was snatched and I was surrounded. This was not a conversation.
