Bulawayo Test- South Africa won by an innings and 236 runs: beat Zimbabwe 2-0 in the series; Wiaan Mulder Player of the Match, scored 367 runs

South Africa defeated Zimbabwe by a big margin of an innings and 236 runs in the second Test. Zimbabwe, playing follow-on on the third day of the match, could score only 220 runs. The team was all out for 170 in the first innings. South Africa scored 626 runs in the first innings with the help of captain Wiaan Mulder’s 367 runs. South Africa won the first Test by 328 runs. With this, the Proteas team won the series 2-0. South Africa’s captain Mulder received the Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards. Mulder scored 531 runs in 2 matches and also took 7 wickets. 2 more players from South Africa scored fifties
On Sunday, Zimbabwe chose to bowl in Bulawayo. South Africa’s openers Tony De Giorgi and Lesego Senokwane were out after scoring only 10 runs and 3 runs respectively. From here Mulder along with David Bedingham took the team past 200 runs. Bedingham was dismissed after scoring 82 runs. Luhan de Pretorius, who came to bat at number-5, then made a double century partnership with Mulder. Pretorius was dismissed after scoring 78 runs. From here Dewald Brevis scored 30 runs and took the team past 500. Mulder declared the innings before scoring 400. On the second day of the match, Mulder scored a triple century. He had already made a century partnership with Kyle Varian, when the lunch break came. Mulder was not out after scoring 367 runs and the team had scored 626 runs. At this position, South Africa declared their first innings and Mulder lost the opportunity to score 400 runs. Tanaka Chivanga and Kundai Matigimu took 2-2 wickets for Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe’s team could play only 43 overs in the first innings and was all out after scoring 170 runs. Sean Williams remained not out after scoring 83 runs from the team, the rest of the batsmen could not do anything special. Wesley Madhevere scored 25, captain Craig Erwin scored 17, Tanaka Chiwanga scored 10, Tafadzwa Siga scored 12 and Nick Welsh scored 10 runs. The rest of the batsmen could not even touch the 10 run mark. For South Africa, Prenelan Subrien took 4 wickets in the first innings. Vian Mulder and Kodi Yusuf got 2-2 wickets. Corbin Bosch and Senuran Muthusamy got 1-1 wickets. Not many runs were scored in the follow on as well

South Africa gave follow on to Zimbabwe after a lead of 456 runs. The team could only score 220 runs in its second innings as well. Nick Welsh scored 55, captain Craig Ervine scored 49 and Takudzwanashe Kaitano scored 40 runs. In the lower order, Tanaka Chivanga scored 22 and Wellington Masakadza scored 17 runs. The rest of the batsmen could not even cross the 15 run mark. For South Africa, Corbin Bosch took 4 wickets in the second innings. Senuran Muthusamy got 3 and Kodi Yusuf got 2-2 wickets. Wiaan Mulder also got 1 success in the second innings. Now both the teams will participate in the Tri Series. After the Test series ends, both the teams will play a T20 Tri Series in Zimbabwe from July 14. The third team of the series will be New Zealand. Against which Zimbabwe will also play a 2 Test series after the Tri Series.
