Sensex closed 270 points higher at 83,713: Nifty rose 61 points; banking and realty stocks rose, pharma and healthcare declined

On Tuesday (July 8), the second trading day of the week, the Sensex closed at 83,713, up more than 270 points. Nifty rose by about 61 points, closing at 25,523. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 18 were up. Titan’s stock fell by more than 6%. Kotak Mahindra Bank’s stock closed up by about 4%. Zomato, Asian Paints and NTPC stocks were up. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 27 were up and 23 were down. NSE’s pharma, healthcare sectors closed down. IT, banking and realty stocks closed up. Kotak Mahindra Bank and Hindustan Unilever rose by 3%. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 28 closed down. NSE’s IT, media and metal sectors saw the biggest decline.
