TV actress Reem Sheikh recently got embroiled in controversies. When a video went viral on social media in which she was seen answering paparazzi’s question on Ahmedabad plane crash. As soon as this video surfaced, people trolled her a lot. Now Reem has spoken on this controversy. She said that after this incident she was abused very badly. Talking to Hindi Rush, Reem said, “When I went to the set, I did not know anything. I got the call in the evening. Then I saw that there was talk on social media. I felt that now it would be necessary to clarify what happened and what did not happen.” Reem said that she usually does not give statements on such matters. She said, “I am not one of those who play the victim card. Neither in front of the media, nor in front of friends. If I am sad, then that’s it. I came to the set at that time, I woke up at 7:30 in the morning. After getting ready in an hour, there were 4-5 people around me.” Reem further said, “Someone said to me- ‘Tell me about yesterday’. I started thinking- what happened yesterday. Then someone told me that there was an Air India accident. Before that I was laughing, posing, but when this question was asked, I felt that if I suddenly make a sad face, it will look artificial. I could not do this.” Reem said, “If you want to abuse me, call me insensitive, traitor, then say it, but just because I did not make a sad face in front of the media, it does not mean that I was not affected by the accident.” Reem’s sister works in Air India. Reem also said, “I felt even worse because my own sister works in Air India. When this news came, I got 10-12 calls. Everyone was asking- where is your sister. No one can understand what the atmosphere was at our home at that time.” Reem, while referring to trolling, said, “People wrote very dirty abuses. I was called a traitor. Someone said- ‘Send her to Pakistan.’ Not only in the comments, people kept writing bad things in DM as well. I was surprised. I then saw the real trolling that people can trouble someone to this extent.” Reem said, “At that time I realized that being linked up or rumored to be someone is a very small thing. Real trolling is when people say- ‘You are not fit to live in this country.’ This is real trolling.” Reem’s grandmother also got upset with the false news of her marriage. At the same time, Reem also talked about the rumors flying around about her marriage and said, “Once someone posted a false news of my marriage. My grandmother believed that news to be true. I myself was laughing in front of her.” Recently, once again the discussion started that Reem has secretly married a boy named Krish Gupta. To this Reem said, “I don’t know any boy with that name. Maybe he is someone’s friend.” She said that she doesn’t even have a PR team to handle such false news. I myself was shocked to see such news, and was laughing too.
