Mumbai Police on Friday visited the building in Oshiwara area where comedian Kapil Sharma lives. This action was taken after the firing incident at his new restaurant in Canada. Oshiwara police had reached Kapil Sharma’s house for a short while. A senior officer told PTI that the purpose of the police team was to confirm Kapil’s home address. The officer said, “Policemen reached DLH Enclave building in Oshiwara. After the address was confirmed, the team returned after some time.” The officer said that Kapil’s security has not been increased nor his statement has been taken. If sources are to be believed, the police gathered all the information about which agency is in Kapil’s security, how many guards are there. However, sources also say that police patrolling has been increased on Kapil Sharma’s shoot set located in Goregaon Film City and additional deployment of Mumbai Security Force has been done. ‘Caps Cafe’ statement came out after the firing. Let’s stand united against violence and ensure that Caps Cafe always remains a place of warmth and community.” AICWA expressed concern over firing at Kapil’s cafe. Meanwhile, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) appealed to the government to take immediate cognizance of the matter and stand firmly with Kapil Sharma. AICWA has said that India should start diplomatic talks with the Prime Minister of Canada to ensure the safety of Caps Cafe and Kapil Sharma’s family. On social media, Harjeet Singh Ladi and another person named Toofan Singh warned Kapil Sharma to apologize publicly through a video and said that if he did not apologize, the matter could get worse. Both of them also claimed that they tried to contact Kapil Sharma’s manager several times, which was ignored. Eventually they had to fire outside the cafe to get the comedian’s attention. However, it is not clear what Kapil Sharma had commented on Nihang Sikhs. Some sources speculate that it may be related to an old episode of Netflix or a live show. The NIA is looking for Harjeet Singh Ladi in connection with the murder of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Vikas Prabhakar alias Vikas Bagga. The VHP leader was shot dead at his shop in Rupnagar district of Punjab in April 2024. Harjeet Singh Ladi has been linked to extortion, murder and gang-related activities in Canada and India. He operates under the guise of BKI and is accused of several target killings and murder attempts.
