SpiceJet denied the news of free-fall in flight: said – there was slight turbulence due to monsoon; Passenger had claimed – the plane came down suddenly

SpiceJet has rejected the news of free fall in SpiceJet flight going from Delhi to Srinagar. The company said that such claims are completely wrong, baseless and misleading. SpiceJet clarified that before reaching Srinagar, the plane felt slight turbulence (vibration in the air) for a while due to monsoon, which is normal. During that time the seat belt sign was on and the crew had already announced to the passengers to fasten the seat belts. Earlier, a video was posted on the X account named Arjimand Hussain. He claimed that the plane fell several hundred meters down while passing over the Banihal pass. Hussain wrote that he was able to capture only the last moments of this free fall. The user wrote that shortly before, instructions were given to close all the window panes and only after this the incident happened. First know what is free fall condition. Free fall in a plane is the condition when the plane falls in zero gravity (under gravity) for some time. This makes the people inside feel that they have no weight. In simple words, the free fall of the plane feels as if it is falling from the sky. Actually, it is a controlled process. Free fall condition occurs either due to scientific experiment, space training or rare technical fault. There are 2 types of free fall… 1. Controlled free fall or parabolic flight: This free fall is done intentionally. It is done by scientists or space agencies. In this condition, the plane tilts upwards, about 45°, then the engines are turned off or the thrust is reduced, due to which it falls forming a parabola. This makes the people sitting inside feel zero gravity for 20–30 seconds. Organizations like NASA, ESA and ISRO use it for astronaut training. It is also called Vomit Comet, because many people vomit in this condition. 2. Unwanted free fall, emergency malfunction: When the engine of the plane fails due to any reason, air pressure drops, or the control system is not in control, then the plane can fall down without control. In such a situation, the passengers experience a sharp jerk, a feeling of swinging and sometimes the weight becomes zero. However, this is a very rare condition and in most of the cases the pilots immediately control the plane. He said that this report does not seem right. Necessary signatures are also not there in it, whereas it is necessary. Kaul says that such a pilot should be included in this investigation team, who has complete understanding of Boeing 787 or at least 737 aircraft. Read full news…
