The man who took 19 people, including 17 children, hostage at Ra Studio in Mumbai’s Powai area on Thursday was killed in an encounter. Accused Rohit Arya was shot during police action and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where he later died. Rohit had taken 17 children, a senior citizen, and a civilian hostage at 1:45 p.m. Police and special commandos rescued all the hostages safely after an hour-long operation. Police also recovered an airgun and chemicals from the scene. According to police, the accused had called more than 100 children for auditions. Kesarkar further stated that all procedures must be followed for any government payment. Therefore, his allegation that he did not receive 2 crore rupees is false.
