Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated on October 31st that Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi is “100% a Pakistani agent” and has been planted in India by a foreign power. “The day I show proof, everyone will believe it.” On Saturday, Gogoi responded to Himanta’s statement by posting, “In the last few months, Himanta Biswa Sarma Dangoria has lost credibility. He is unfit to lead the state.” Gogoi added that Sarma made these comments on the day singer Zubeen Garg’s last film (Roi Roi Biennale) was released, which shows Sarma is unfit to head the Assam government. He fears losing power. CM Sarma challenged Gogoi to file a defamation case against him if his allegations are false. He stated that he is not making the evidence public yet, otherwise people will say he is trying to divert attention from the singer Zubeen Garg’s death. The Assam Chief Minister had previously alleged that Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi’s wife, while living in India, receives a salary from a Pakistan-based NGO. His wife and children are not Indian citizens. He also questioned Gogoi, asking if he had traveled to Pakistan for 15 days. Gogoi said, “Sarma will flee to Dubai or Singapore as soon as he loses power.” Gogoi stated that whenever Himanta Sarma loses power in Assam, he will flee to Dubai or Singapore. He had promised to provide evidence of his allegations against him on September 10th. He has not provided a single piece of evidence to support his fabricated claims. Today, his credibility is zero. Chief Minister Sarma has repeatedly lied to the people of Assam and misled them. Sarma is now constantly afraid of losing power in the state. He will no longer have the Home Department to protect him. He is afraid to answer to the people. In the future, he may have to flee to Dubai or Singapore.
