The powerful trailer for the film “Charak: Fair of Faith” has been released. This folklore-based thriller, unraveling the complex layers of superstition, tantric rituals, and folk faith, will hit theaters on March 6, 2026. The film is backed by Sudipto Sen, who previously directed “The Kerala Story.” Set against the backdrop of the Charak Mela, the film, directed by suspense director Shiladitya Maulik, exposes the rigorous religious rituals prevalent in rural India and the social realities associated with them. The trailer offers a glimpse of the “Charak Mela,” a traditional festival known for its deep faith as well as dangerous rituals. The trailer begins with preparations for the fair, where the entire village considers it a means to fulfill their long-cherished desires. But as the rituals escalate, the story questions the fine line between faith and fanaticism, devotion and destruction. Producer Sudipto Sen stated that after screening the film, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) committee raised some objections regarding the content. The film was then sent to a higher review panel. With the suggested changes, the film has been approved. Sen stated that he is satisfied with the decision and is excited to bring the film to a global audience. Confidence in Content: The film is presented by Pen Studios, led by Dr. Jayantilal Gada. Gada says that strong content is the biggest draw in today’s times. A thought-provoking story like “Charak” will thrill and compel audiences to think. The film boasts a powerful cast, featuring actors like Anjali Patil, Sahidur Rahman, Subhrata Dutta, Shashi Bhushan, Nalneesh Neel, Shankhadeep, and Shaunak Shyamal in pivotal roles. “Charak: A Fire of Faith” is produced by Dhaval Jayantilal Gada and Sipping Tea Cinema in association with Sudipto Sen Productions, with Rajesh Bhatt as associate producer.
