Interview: Actor Rannvijay Singha says: Youth should recognize their self-worth; chase targets, not trends; live for yourself, not for anyone else.

Ranvijay Singh, a well-known face in the world of fitness and adventure, arrived in Raipur to participate in the SK Marathon. The marathon will begin from Marine Drive in approximately 21 categories, flagged off by Roadies fame Ranvijay. This year, the marathon, themed “Let’s Run Towards a Healthier India and a Safer Digital India,” is expected to attract 10,000 runners. On this occasion, Ranvijay spoke exclusively with City Bhaskar and shared his experiences. Read what Ranvijay had to say about youth, fitness, and lifestyle… What are your future plans? – My children are still young, so I want to make time for them. I was very busy during one phase of my career, but now I plan to work selectively until my children are older. The focus is on quality over quantity. How should youth balance themselves between reel and real life? – Whatever youth do, they do it keeping in mind their family, elders, and society. The example we set for them will be the one they follow in the future. It’s important for youth to understand their self-worth. Live for yourself, not for anyone else. You were quite overweight, so how did you manage it? – During a fitness session at school, a child said that you’re fit, so it’s easy to talk about fitness. I took it as a challenge. At the age of 39, I gained from 83 kg to 108 kg. Then, by following a workout and proper nutrition routine, I got back to being fit in 9 months. How did your military background help you in life? – Being from a military background has proven to be an added advantage for me. Because of this, discipline, punctuality, and the ability to adjust to every situation have been a part of my life. My father was posted in both large and small military cantonments across the country, which led to my education in 9 different schools. Because of this, I’ve seen the whole of India closely, made friends everywhere, and learned something from every city. What do you think is the importance of sports and fitness in life? – Sports is my life’s mantra. Sports teaches discipline and strategy, keeps me motivated, enables me to take on challenges, and provides a positive frame of mind. Fitness is a by-product of lifestyle. An active lifestyle and mindful eating can help you take care of your mind and body at any age.
