The stock market was bullish today, Tuesday, 22 April, the second trading day of the week. The Sensex closed at 79,596, up 187 points. Nifty rose 42 points, closing at 24,167. Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 14 were in gain. ITC, HUL, MM, HDFC Bank and Zomato closed up 2.50%. IndusInd Bank’s stock fell 4.73%. At the same time, Power Grid, Airtel, Infosys, Bajaj Finserv and Adani Ports’ shares fell up to 2.3%. Out of the 50 Nifty stocks, 31 closed down. However, in the sectoral indices of NSE, Realty rose by 2.42%, FMCG by 1.89%, Consumer Durables by 1.50%, Nifty Healthcare by 0.80% and Public Sector Bank by 0.75%.
