Let us tell you that Ram Gopal Varma has always been giving outspoken statements on political issues. He is a supporter of the YSR Congress Party and has been giving statements against Chandrababu Naidu and his party. Ram Gopal Varma’s film Vyuham was released in March this year. The film was based on the death of the then Chief Minister Y.S. Rajashekar Reddy in a helicopter crash in 2009 and the political journey of his son Jagan Mohan Reddy. The film was to be released during the Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha elections last year, however, the film had to be postponed due to controversy. At that time, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh had demanded a ban on the release of the film, saying that it was made to tarnish the image of his family. Amidst the controversies, Ram Gopal Varma had made several social media posts while promoting the film, in which he wrote objectionable things against Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM and Minister Lokesh. He also posted a morphed photo of him, on which a complaint was now lodged against him. After the controversies, on 13 December 2023, the film Vyuham was given a U certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification, after which the film was released on 2 March 2024.
