While filing a complaint against director Ranjit at Kochi City Police Station, actress Srilekha Mitra has told that in the year 2009 she was called to Kochi to give her a role in the film Palerimanikkam, which was being directed by Ranjit. Ranjit had called her to his flat in Kaloor Kadavanthra, where he was staying, to discuss the role. During the conversation going on in the flat, Ranjit held her hand tightly and then later started caressing her body with the intention of having sex. Srilekha further told that as soon as she realized the danger, she ran away from the flat where she was staying and came to her hotel. The next day of this incident, she told script writer Shri Joshi Joseph about this. She was not given a ticket to return home, so she asked for help from Shri Joshi Joseph. Earlier, Srilekha did not want to complain. During the complaint, the actress also told that she belongs to Kolkata and she did not understand the local legal process of the South, so she was hesitant to complain earlier.
