They have demanded from India that it should withdraw the recognition given to RT for journalism in India. Their journalists should be considered as employees of the Russian Embassy. India has not yet confirmed this. At the same time, a former diplomat has said that banning the media network exposes the double standards of Western countries. Media networks raising funds for the Russian army US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced a new list of sanctions on Russia on Friday. Many media networks of Russia have been included in it. These include RT and Sputnik operating in India. Blinken has alleged that these media networks work for Russian intelligence. They have spread misinformation in the US and Germany. The media network has also been accused of collecting donations for the Russian military. The US has said that it has ordered its diplomats around the world to share the evidence found against the Russian media network with all governments. According to The Hindu, the issue of banning RT was raised in a meeting held 2 weeks ago. According to Christopher Elmus, an official of the US Embassy, ??they have appealed to India and other countries to take action against the Russian network according to their own. At the same time, an official of the Ministry of External Affairs said that this is not an issue of India.
