Black marketing case of Coldplay tickets: Book My Show filed a complaint against fake sellers, tickets worth Rs 3500 are being sold for Rs 70,000

Dainik Bhaskar had conducted a sting operation and exposed the black marketing of the Coldplay concert to be held in January 2025. Tickets worth Rs 3500 for the concert are being sold for Rs 70,000. A complaint was filed against the Book My Show app in this matter some time back. Now the Book My Show app has filed a complaint against many people who are illegally selling tickets at high prices through Instagram and fake websites. Pooja Nimish Mishra (38), General Manager of the Law Department of Book My Show’s Andheri office, has filed a complaint against many fake sellers on 2 October. She alleges that for the past several days she has been receiving complaints through e-mail that tickets for the Coldplay concert are being sold at arbitrary prices from fake websites. She has also received several screenshots, which include numbers and chats of about 27 people who are selling tickets. In a report by Mid Day, citing police officials, Book My Show had received an email from a man named Ashwin some time ago, who demanded several tickets and said that he had taken money from many people in the name of tickets and had assured to give tickets. However, the persons associated with the app refused to give them tickets. In another mail, a man named Arjun has sent screenshots of some WhatsApp chats, in which black marketing of tickets is taking place. In that mail, there is also mention of many Instagram accounts, including 27 blackmarketers, who are selling tickets. Book My Show filed a complaint on September 25
Earlier on September 25, Book My Show had filed a complaint against those selling fake tickets of Coldplay concert and issued a statement saying – Book My Show is not associated with Viagogo and Gigsberg and any third party for the sale and resale of tickets for Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour 2025 in India. Book My Show app also accused of fraud of Rs 500 crore
BYJM (Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha) has also registered a complaint with EOW accusing Book My Show of fraud. Book My Show is accused that its management has done money laundering and fraud of Rs 500 crore in the name of ticket selling. Party member Tejinder Singh Tiwana has said that Book My Show was supposed to give tickets first to the people coming on the app, however the app prepared a special link for blackmarketing agents, so that they could buy tickets and sell them at higher prices. At the same time, ticket buyers were put in a virtual queue, due to which they could not book tickets. Book My Show app has earned Rs 500 crore from this fraud.
