In Maharashtra, there has been a conflict between BJP and NCP-Ajit faction over the candidature of former minister Nawab Malik from Mahayuti. NCP Ajit faction has made Nawab Malik a candidate from Mankhurd-Shivajinagar seat. This seat has been given to Shiv Sena Shinde faction by Mahayuti and Suresh Patil has been made the candidate. BJP has also supported Patil and said that they will not campaign for Malik. Mumbai BJP President Ashish Shelar said on Wednesday – Our party’s stand is clear. NCP has also given ticket to Nawab Malik’s daughter Sana Malik from Anushaktinagar seat, who is also the official candidate of Mahayuti. Ashish said that BJP has no problem with Sana’s candidature. The party will definitely support her. BJP said- BJP’s stand on people associated with Dawood was already clear
Mumbai BJP President Ashish said- We have repeatedly clarified our stand on Dawood Ibrahim and people associated with him. Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis has already said this and now I am also saying the same. There is no question of campaigning for Nawab Malik. Nawab Malik had filed two nominations on October 29, the last day of nomination. He had said on Tuesday, ‘I filed nomination as an NCP candidate.
